Persistence

In: Life Issues

As I began research for an upcoming session for youths, I came across a documentary ‘Homeless to Harvard’ based on the life of Liz Murray.

It was so enriching to hear about the path of this young person and her shift of energy from difficulty and tragedy to achievement. She acclaimed persistence as a key factor in remaining steadfast and finding that ‘something’ to enable persistence to kick in when things become very hard and seemingly impossible. Such a powerful recommendation…

So it may be worthwhile to seek that ‘something’ that works for you – it could come from a place within, a memory or a mind creation such as a feeling, a word or an image or some other unique symbol… you will know when you have found it by its effectiveness.

When it is found, keep it close by to help maintain your own focus and persistence when needed.

It is understandable at times when we or others are in the midst of a down cycle in life – the picture of somewhere better, may seem an eternity away – however it is important to note and encourage the taking of small steps to activate the domino effect.

So if you know someone who is struggling to move from a place of difficulty – igniting a sense of hope from the transformations of others may be useful. If not from this short post and video – perhaps from others you may know of.

Just a thought…
