Errors and mistakes – how useful

Isn’t it interesting when errors are made we can be so hard on ourselves.

Why is this so?

Errors and mistakes are often gregariously brought to our attention from others and attached with a sense of gloom, even horror.

The nature of humans today seems caught up with judgement and expectation, both of which are major contributors to the pressure life we are currently experiencing.

Our ego also attempts to convince us that we should have or shouldn’t have and a sense of guilt, worry, inadequacy or similar such feelings arise.

Spending a disproportionate amount of time on the ‘fear of’ or ‘what if’ or ‘how will it look to others’ only takes us away from placing our energy into personal learning and growth.

When we remove the external opinion and our own ego strangle hold then view the error as an opportunity to learn and develop more preferred ways, it can serve us much better.

So work to recognise when you are on a negative trail of thought and find a way to steer you back to applying useful findings from the mistake.

A great step is in showing compassion and forgiveness towards yourself and seeking the lighter side of it all.
