Lance Armstrong and his intention for life

In: Inspirations

15 Jan 2009

There were 2 things that stood out for me this fortnight.

Firstly the interview with Lance Armstrong (the cyclist who survived cancer and is cycling in the Tour Down Under 2009) and his comment that he ‘made the most of each day’.

It made me wonder how many of us know how to do this.

We often state this as our intention but how does this come to be?

If you are not already experiencing life in this way, you may need to put some thought and effort into it so at the end of the day you know how you did make it happen.

Without this it may be another day, week, month where you were hardly aware of the good or the opportunities.

So state your intention…

Identify a simple feel good approach and see the opportunities arise.

See how it goes…

The second stand out was when speaking with a relative who had just lost their long term partner to cancer and expressed the emptiness they were feeling.

I felt in that moment how important to acknowledge and appreciate people and relationships who give so much energy and fullness to our lives.

Just in their presence, their great attributes, their annoying habits, in the things we like and dislike – they all add a richness that when no longer there, we miss.

This could be one of those ways to achieve the most from our day; filtering appreciation for others with our daily business and activities.

In this way, the day itself can feel much brighter.

Remember there are many types of relationships that offer us something valuable so this could be worthwhile.

Any way something to ponder…

Tricia
