15 Jul 2009It came to my attention last week that some days you may be perfectly OK with things such as a comment made by a close friend while on other days the same thing or comment could lead you to feel quite the opposite – hurt and upset.
It led me to think about the natural rhythms of universal phenomena; night, day, summer, winter, high tides and low, months and years and how we understand and accept these cycles without resistance or question.
When you think about it our bodies, like our lives also go through similar rhythms and cycles – another inevitable in nature – so perhaps with more knowledge and understanding of our own personal rhythms we may come to understanding and acceptance also.
It could be a way to give less emotional and mind attachment to what we generally perceive as external causes of our discomfort, moods and feelings. We may be more able to accept these external events for more of what they are – external events.
This may be one reason for regular ongoing disharmonies within our self even in times when ‘external’ things don’t seem so bad.
If we could perhaps ride the wave with a curiosity and knowing that like all other cycles, will change and move on.
And all phases do… so we could look to this as an alternative explanation to our usual pattern of thinking and feeling.
Some things however as we all know, just arrive at a low time in our personal rhythm! And feel much more difficult than at other times.
If anything this thought could slow down the temptation of getting entangled in things actually better just left!
Just a thought….
