Extracting quality from life moments

In: Life Issues

How often do we walk past quality life moments hardly aware that they have taken place?

I thought about what I might now consider a quality moment as compared to when I lived more ‘blindly’ in the ‘busy do’ world.

Things I had just ‘done’ previously now bring more of an appreciation of their worth.

Despite an attachment of like / dislike or good / bad (which are easy to sometimes do) I can see them more for their purpose and fulfilment rather than judgements with no connections or apparent relevance.

Sharing a coffee with friends – for the respect and value of different views, ideas and support from others

Working through a problem (despite its difficulty) -for the responsibility and commitment to resolution and progress

Undertaking mundane basic household and life chores -for the humility and honouring of basic life needs

Cooperating with others -for the respect and benefit of universal cohesion for everyone in the now and in the future

Exercising the body -for the vulnerability of the human physical form if not nurtured

To name a few…

As you begin to ‘sit’ in the experience this way – you can absorb the relevance and value so your memory and recall of that is far more worthwhile.

I experienced this more fully when I visited my Auntie for the last time before her frail body succumbed to cancer – amongst the sadness and difficulty of that visit was the satisfaction of sharing moments with her in love and honour.

A strong connection to the value of that moment began to alter my relationship and feelings with that experience.

This can be a useful approach in developing quality relationships with all that is in your world.

Opportunities of worth may emerge from events or situations you once saw as too difficult or useless.

As each day goes by, so too do the challenges… and with these come the opportunity for development of more resourceful approaches to cope, learn and grow.

So if possible begin by finding the worth and appreciation of the usual ‘hum drum’ events and notice the energy that emerges.

You may find you have more ‘great’ days than usual.

Enjoy your fortnight,

Tricia
