1 Aug 2009While we can’t attend to all those in need from around the world, a great step and opportunity is to attend to those in our everyday life where possible.
No matter how small we think this may be – it is actually a most powerful contribution towards a community well cared for.
External care from government and organisations cannot provide the day to day, moment by moment nurture of individuals who are facing ongoing challenges of being human in today’s society.
More and more we find ourselves on an emotional roller coaster feeling out of sorts with the ‘shoulds’ and rules imposed in a structured society and our heart – that feels a discord but doesn’t know the reason.
When we actually recognise the difficulties we face are common to us all in today’s society, we may begin to open up to others and move past ‘hiding’ them as previously perceived weaknesses.
The sharing of knowledge through our experiences is a great gift.
Knowledge is not necessarily accessing more and more information from sources such as internet facts or theoretical books.
This knowledge comes from quality extraction from our personal experiences in life.
Quite often we underplay our life experience and may not see the value it offers others.
There is in fact an abundance to be offered through the stories, tests and outcomes faced by each of us - despite our conscious mind minimising our value and worth.
Everyone’s life brings a piece to the puzzle in the life of another.
When we become more attuned to seeking from our human support network, we may not feel so alone in times of challenge and difficulty.
So perhaps take the time to share with someone else in need – your own personal experience in how you overcame or dealt with a challenging life situation.
The notion of this was reinforced when I received an email from a friend (thanks Christie) about a book ‘No Ceiling’ written by Heather Swan describing the physical, mental and emotional journey she took herself on as she followed her vision quest to self discovery. It highlights the possibilities when you take the ‘leap of faith’ towards your hearts yearning. If you have a quality insight or experience you wish to share, feel free to forward it or perhaps come along to the breakfast where the give and receive of inspiration is on the agenda!
Enjoy another fortnight of life,
Tricia
